Job summary

This position requires an Associate's degree or AHIMA/AAPC credentials, two years of coding experience, and strong communication skills in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent in health information management.
• Two years of progressive on-the-job experience with medical coding.
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, disease states and pharmaceuticals.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review clinical documentation and diagnosis results to extract data and apply ICD-9-CM and CPT4 codes for billing and reporting.
• Code inpatient and outpatient encounters per ICD-9-CM Guidelines.
• Resolve error reports and report error patterns; assist in workflow improvements to reduce billing errors.
