Job summary

Innovaccer Inc. is seeking a Medical Coding Specialist to independently review and resolve front-end scrubs and denied claims, ensuring accurate and timely payments. The role emphasizes CPT/ICD-10-CM coding, adherence to HIPAA, and collaboration with revenue cycle partners for clean claim rates.

You will review documentation, assign appropriate codes, and escalate questions to the Coding Manager while maintaining high accuracy and confidentiality in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current AAPC or AHIMA Coding Certification for a minimum of 3 years.
• Minimum of 3+ years of professional coding experience.
• Strong working knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM, medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and Medicare guidelines.
• Experience reviewing front-end coding errors before submitting to insurance and correcting denials.
• Familiarity with English grammar, documentation standards, and HIPAA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Review, analyze, and resolve all front-end scrubs and denied claims to ensure timely payments.
• Assign ICD-10-CM and CPT codes with appropriate modifiers for professional services.
• Review medical records to determine correct codes and ensure medical necessity.
• Prepare appeal letters/forms with supporting documentation.
• Maintain a minimum of 92% coding accuracy and comply with HIPAA.
