Qualifications

• Current AAPC or AHIMA coding certification is required.
• Minimum 3 years of professional coding experience.
• Strong CPT/ICD-10-CM knowledge and familiarity with Medicare guidelines.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review front-end scrubs and denied claims to ensure accurate payments.
• Assign ICD-10-CM and CPT codes with appropriate modifiers.
• Create appeal letters and resubmissions for denied claims.
• Maintain a minimum 92% coding accuracy.
• Escalate coding questions to Coding Manager.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and protect patient information.
