Job summary

Responsibilities include reviewing charts for ICD10/CPT accuracy, educating Revenue Cycle staff, and maintaining AAPC credentials. Requires CPC/CRC credentials and at least two years of coding experience; strong detail orientation and customer service skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• CPC or CRC credentials through AAPC with at least two years of CPT/ICD10/HCPCS coding experience.
• Knowledge of insurance industry and medical terminology/anatomy required.

Responsibilities

• Review assigned charts for correct ICD10 and CPT coding.
• Interpret progress notes and diagnostic reports to assign CPT and ICD10 codes.
• Educate Revenue Cycle staff on proper coding; coordinate with Revenue Cycle for claim issues.
• Maintain coding credentials through AAPC.
• Research coding questions to stay compliant with guidelines.
• Perform other assigned duties.
