Job summary

Community Hospital is seeking a full-time Medical Coder to review physician documentation and apply CPT/ICD-10 codes in line with policy. You will communicate with physicians, support coding accuracy, and contribute to productivity targets.

The role requires a CPC certification (AAPC) within one year and a high school diploma. Compensation includes comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with past billing or coding experience preferred.
• CPC certification or AAPC membership required within one year of starting.

Responsibilities

• Completes coding per practice policy and standards.
• Review physician office visit documentation to correctly apply CPT and ICD-10 codes.
• Ensure coding guidelines are followed and communicate with physicians on questions.
• Meet or exceed accuracy and productivity standards.
• Assist with coding reviews and provide notes for each account.
• Follow up on assigned accounts with 48 hour turnaround and 95% accuracy.
• Escalate issues to supervisor when needed.
