Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
• CPC or CRC credentials through AAPC required with at least two years of CPT/ICD10/HCPCS coding experience.
• Knowledge of insurance industry and medical terminology.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills; detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Review assigned charts for correct ICD10 and CPT coding.
• Interpret progress notes and diagnostic reports to assign CPT and ICD10 codes.
• Educate Revenue Cycle staff on proper coding; coordinate with Revenue Cycle for claim issues.
• Maintain coding credentials through AAPC.
• Research coding questions to stay compliant with third-party and regulatory guidelines.
• Perform other assigned duties.
