CareSouth Carolina is seeking a coder responsible for accurate captioning of charges from the Electronic Medical Record, including CPT, ICD-10 codes and G-Codes.

You will review the EHR to ensure all codes and charges are captured, interact respectfully with patients and staff, and maintain HIPAA confidentiality. Hours are Mon-Fri 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m., Society Hill, SC.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience as a certified coder preferred; FQHC billing/coding experience preferred but not required.
• AAPC-certified professional coder preferred; if not certified, certification within 6 months of hire to maintain employment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with diverse constituencies.
• Ability to work independently and handle problems with several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Responsabilidades

• Interact with patients and employees respectfully and consistently with the mission and values of CareSouth Carolina.
• Coding and Charge Entry: Enter CPT and ICD-10 codes as well as capturing G-Codes and translating sno-med code into proper CPT code for services rendered.
• Review the Electronic Health Record to ensure that all relevant codes and charges have been captured.
• Protected Health Information Confidentiality: Maintains compliance with confidentiality standards including HIPAA, JCAHO accreditation standards, etc.
