Job summary

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, 2+ years of coding experience in a specialty area, and RHIT, CCS, CCA, CPC, or CPC-A or other coding credential.

Qualifications

• Experience: 2+ years of coding experience in a specialty area required.
• Licensure/Certification: RHIT, CCS, CCA, CPC, CPC-A, or other coding credential required.

Responsibilities

• Accurate code assignment for inpatient, outpatient, and emergency services as indicated in the medical record.
• Use ICD-10 and CPT editions and follow official coding guidelines.
• Follow MUSC Health Information Management policies and procedures.
