Job summary

AAPC is seeking a skilled medical coder to review clinical documentation and diagnostic results to assign CPT, HCPCS and ICD-10 codes for billing, reporting, research and regulatory compliance for inpatient and/or outpatient charges. The role requires attention to detail and the ability to work in a high-volume environment.

Candidates should have completed an accredited coding program or hold RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P, CCA, COC, or CPC credentials, with 2–3 years of coding experience.

Qualifications

• Completed an accredited coding program or holds one of the listed credentials.
• Minimum 2–3 years of coding experience.
• Experience in Oncology and/or Radiation Oncology preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret medical records and documentation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review clinical documentation and diagnostic results to extract data and assign CPT, HCPCS and ICD-10 codes for billing and reporting.
• Perform charge entry, coding edit corrections and denial review.
• Maintain accuracy in high-volume environment with attention to detail.
