Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED.
• Up to 2 years related experience in medical billing and coding.
• Active CPC-A, CPC, CCS, COC, CCS-P, or CCA certification required.
• Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10-CM and payer guidelines.
• Ability to review and resolve coding discrepancies and documentation issues.
• Ability to communicate coding concepts clearly to staff.

Responsibilities

• Review denied and retracted claims to identify coding issues.
• Provide recommendations for corrections, appeals, or other actions.
• Educate providers and staff on coding issues and trends.
• Assist with preparation and submission of coding-related appeals.
• Collaborate with Billing to resolve coding-related claim issues and reimbursements.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements.
