Role Description

This is a full-time remote role for a Medical Coder. The Medical Coder will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing medical records to ensure proper coding of diagnoses, procedures, and services. The Medical Coder will also be responsible for adhering to all coding guidelines, regulations, and compliance standards.

Qualifications

• Coding Experience and familiarity with ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT/HCPCS coding system
• Certified in medical CCA, CCS, or equivalent.
• Proficient knowledge in Medical Terminology
• Experience in Medical Coding including, ED coding and physician coding.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work remotely and be aware of remote work-related challenges.
• Good communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHRs) is a plus.

Education/ Experience

·Professional coder with certification with credentialing from AHIMA, and/or AAPC to be maintained annually.

·1 + year experience.

·Experience with ICD-10, CPT, and NCCI edits, and modifier edits.

·Strong preference for candidates with experience in coding professional services that take place in the emergency department.

·Proficiency in technology and experience with multi- systems. Ability to use a PC in a Windows environment. Microsoft excel, and EMR systems.

·Job type: 40 hours per week. Monday – Friday day shift- flexible.
