Seeking an experienced Outpatient | Acute Care | HIMS Complex Coder to join our talented Acute Care HIMS Coding Team. Candidates should have complex coding experience across all service lines including General, Orthopedic, Urology/Gynecology, Cardiac, Spinal, etc., with ICD-10CM and ICD-10-PCS experience.
Expected outpatient coding productivity is 1-2 charts per hour with at least 95% accuracy. We utilize various metrics to meet Banner standards, which are more stringent than many national standards. Meeting accounts receivable goals supports Banner’s financial objectives. Comprehensive training and ongoing support are provided.
This is a fully remote position available in the following states: AK, AR, AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, MD, MI, MN, MO, MS, NC, ND, NE, NM, NV, NY, OH, OK, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, WV, WA, WI, WY.
The hours are flexible, generally any 8-hour window between 7 am – 7 pm, Monday - Friday, with a focus on productivity.
A coding assessment will be administered post-interview, to be completed within 48 hours.
This role involves coding and abstracting outpatient complex surgical and observation services across Banner hospitals, including high-acuity facilities. Responsibilities include reviewing documentation, assigning appropriate codes using ICD CM/PCS and CPT4, and ensuring compliance with all regulations and guidelines.
