Job summary

Mercer University’s School of Medicine in Columbus, GA seeks a Clerkship Coordinator to support the Family Medicine, Surgery, and Obstetrics & Gynecology clerkships. The role focuses on ensuring consistent implementation, evaluation, and communication across MUSM campuses.

You will maintain academic records, help update curriculum manuals, and work closely with Clerkship Directors to guide students toward successful completion, while coordinating with clinical coordinators across campuses.

Qualifications

• Two years of college coursework and two years of administrative support experience are required.
• Ability to communicate (verbal and written) with many internal and external stakeholders.
• Must be able to effectively communicate with students, faculty, staff, and clinical partners in a professional manner.
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and responsibilities.
• Strong organizational skills are required.
• Basic knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Ability to appropriately maintain confidential information.
• Ability to develop and maintain positive, professional relationships with internal and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support the Family Medicine, Surgery, and Obstetrics & Gynecology clerkship rotations assuring consistency of implementation, testing, evaluation, and communication across MUSM campuses.
• Maintain the academic records and assist in maintaining and annually updating the clerkship curriculum manuals of assigned clerkships.
• Work closely with the Clerkship Director for each assigned clerkship to assist students with the successful completion of the clerkship curriculum.
• Provide support to medical students and coordinate with other clinical coordinators on and across campuses.
