Job summary

Protouch Staffing in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a Medical Billing Specialist-Collector to manage AR, follow up on unpaid or denied claims, and resolve denials. This full-time role requires diligence, accuracy, and HIPAA-compliant handling of patient data.

You will review EOBs, prepare corrected claims and appeals, track aging accounts, and collaborate with payers. A minimum of 5 years in medical office billing with provider-side collections is expected; strong knowledge of CPT/HCPCS/ICD-10-CM is

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of recent medical office billing and provider-side collections experience; 7+ years preferred.
• Strong experience with commercial insurance, Medicare, Medi-Cal/Medicaid, and managed care plans.
• Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10-CM, CMS-1500 claims, modifiers, and payer requirements.
• Experience with claim appeals, denial resolution, and aged AR follow-up.
• Familiarity with payer portals, practice management systems, and Microsoft Office.
• Strong analytical, communication, organizational, and documentation skills.

Job description

Medical Billing Specialist- Collector

Location: Los Angeles, CA

Job Type: Full-Time

Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8-hour shifts (typically starting between 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM)

• Flexible scheduling may be required.
