AtlantiCare is seeking a Billing Specialist to ensure timely scheduling of patient appointments, verify insurance, and input client data with accuracy. The role processes patient accounts, facilitates payments from third parties and patients, and resolves denials and refunds while upholding regulatory standards.

The position emphasizes confidentiality, professional communication, and strong knowledge of medical terminology to support the Surgery Center Business Office in meeting revenue targets.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma required; college preferred.
• At least 2 years hospital business office experience or 3 years collection field experience.
• Knowledge of third party payor collection procedures and laws.
• Excellent telephone communication skills and computer literacy.
• Working knowledge of basic medical terminology.
• Customer service oriented with discretion and empathy.

Aufgaben

• Schedule patient appointments in a timely, organized manner.
• Verify patient insurance and collect deductibles when applicable.
• Enter client information and financial details into the system.
• Process patient accounts to procure payments from third parties and patients.
• Address denials, unresolved payments, and refunds in coordination with the Surgery Center Business Office.
• Maintain accurate patient records and comply with state and federal regulations.
• Assist patients with billing questions and payment plans.
