Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of two years in patient front office and/or billing.
• Familiar with medical authorization processes for various insurances.
• Experience in oncology imaging settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verify insurance eligibility and authorization; identify plan limitations.
• Process prior authorizations and monitor per company standards.
• Coordinate with departments to obtain authorizations and appeals.
• Proactively manage expiring authorizations and referrals.
• Input verification results and authorizations into EMR accurately.
• Determine patient financial responsibility per insurer guidelines.
• Assist with patient communications when coverage is denied or needs pre-determination.
• Collect and post copays and outstanding balances; post payments daily.
• Provide financial counseling and information on available assistance programs.
• Set up and monitor patient payment plans and document issues.
