Job summary

First Choice Urgent Care in Michigan is seeking a Full Time Data Entry Specialist to support accurate patient data capture and billing operations. You will enter information into the Athena EMR and assist with claim processing, eligibility checks, and insurance follow-up.

The role requires attention to detail, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinic environment, and independence as well as teamwork. Healthcare experience and familiarity with billing are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in medical billing, coding or outstanding AR is preferred.
• Familiarity with payer types including commercial, Medicare and Medicaid.
• Proficient in using multiple platforms for eligibility checks, claim submission and portal navigation.
• Strong attention to detail and high accuracy in data entry.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Responsibilities

• Accurately enter information into our EMR system (Athena).
• Support billing operations including claim correction and documentation.
• Insurance eligibility and verification.
• Managing outstanding AR workflows, including patient balances and insurance follow-up.
• Communicate with billing staff and insurance companies as needed.
• Provide additional administrative support to ensure smooth clinic operations.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and protect patient confidentiality.
