Qualifications

• Previous experience as a medical biller in a private practice or healthcare setting.
• Strong understanding of medical billing procedures, insurance processes, and coding systems (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS).
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in billing and coding.
• Proficiency in using EHR and billing software.

Responsibilities

• Review patient records to assign codes for diagnoses and procedures.
• Submit claims to insurance and other third-party payers.
• Follow up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle.
• Verify patients' insurance coverage and obtain authorization for services.
• Communicate with physicians to clarify diagnoses for accurate billing.
