Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Banner-approved medical assistant training meeting state regulations.
• Active medical assistant certification required (e.g., AMT, AAMA, NHA, NCCT).
• BLS certification required on hire.
• Strong computer and software skills essential.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple changing priorities effectively.
• Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card may be required for certain sites.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for exams by taking vital signs and documenting chief complaints and pain scores.
• Assist providers with exams and minor procedures; perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and related tasks.
• Coordinate care: referrals, authorizations, prescriptions, and scheduling.
• Provide clerical support and ensure complete and accurate medical records for billing.
• Maintain clean exam rooms and sterilize equipment per procedures.
• Order supplies and manage medication-related tasks as directed.
• Communicate test results to patients and support clinicians in care delivery.
• On-board and orient new staff and participate in simulation training as needed.
