MaineHealth is seeking a Medical Assistant to join the Weight Management team in Belfast, Maine. You will work with a supportive care team to help patients pursue healthier lives and build strong, trusting relationships with those you serve.

The role emphasizes compassionate patient care, teamwork, and effective communication. A high school diploma or GED and Medical Assistant training with clinical hours are required, with certification and BLS where applicable.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or GED preferred. Must meet one of the following: Graduated from an accredited medical assisting program with 160 hours of clinical experience; or completion of an Adult Education Medical Assistant program and 6 months of clinical experience; or 1 year of clinical experience in a multi-provider practice.
• Licenses/Certifications: Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, NCCT, or NREMT certification preferred. BLS certification required or obtained within 30 days. NH positions may require NH Med Tech or NH EMT/NREMT licenses.
• Experience: Relevant experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.
• Additional Skills: N/A

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

1. Education: High School diploma or GED preferred. Must meet one of the following requirements: Graduated from an accredited vocational institution or community college in Medical Assisting with 160 hours of clinical experience completed; or completion of an Adult Education Medical Assistant program and 6 months of clinical experience in a practice setting; or 1 year of clinical experience in a multi-provider practice setting (equivalent experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
2. License/Certifications: Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, NCCT, or NREMT certification preferred. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. Fully remote care team members are exempt from BLS certification requirement. A NH Med Tech License, or NH EMT and National Registry EMT license is required for those positions located in New Hampshire.

The pay range for this position is $21.09to $27.12 per hour.
