  • Fully remote care team positions are exempt from BLS.

Responsibilities

  • Room patients for visits and procedures.
  • Complete medication refills and manage follow-ups from endoscopy.
  • Input laboratory results and abstract charts.
  • Collaborate with care team to ensure smooth patient flow.
  • Support other clinic tasks as needed.

This is a per diem position.

MaineHealth Orthopedics and Sports Medicine - Norway | MaineHealth is searching for a Medical Assistant! The Medical Assistant’s primary responsibilities include rooming patients, completing medication refills, managing follow-ups from endoscopy procedures, inputting labs, and abstracting charts. The ideal candidate is thoughtful and compassionate about the care they deliver, adaptable to the day-to-day changes in healthcare, and works collaboratively in a team setting.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities (KSAs)
  • Education: High School diploma or GED preferred. Must meet one of the following requirements: Graduated from an accredited vocational institution or community college in Medical Assisting with 160 hours of clinical experience completed; or completion of an Adult Education Medical Assistant program and 6 months of clinical experience in a practice setting; or 1 year of clinical experience in a multi-provider practice setting (equivalent experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis).
  • License/Certifications: Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, or NCCT certification required. (Prior to 5/01/25 MA IIs with 10 years MA experience and employed by MaineHealth as a MA in the most recent 5 years are exempt from certification requirement). Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. Fully remote care team members are exempt from BLS certification requirement. A NH Med Tech License, or NH EMT and National Registry EMT license is required for those positions located in New Hampshire.
  • Experience: Six months of experience as a Medical Assistant or one year as a MaineHealth Clinical Team Assistant.

The pay range for this position is $21.09to $27.12 per hour.

Compensation for part-time positions isdeterminedon a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
