Job summary

MaineHealth is hiring for a Medical Assistant to join the Urology team in Brunswick. You will work with experienced providers and a dedicated clinical team in a specialty practice, contributing to patient care from check-in to discharge.

Responsibilities include rooming patients, obtaining vitals, assisting with procedures, and maintaining a smooth patient experience. Sign-on bonuses are offered for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED preferred. Must meet one of the following: 160 hours clinical experience in Medical Assisting, or completion of an Adult Education Medical Assistant program with 6 months clinical experience, or 1 year clinical experience in a multi-provider practice.

Responsibilities

  • Room patients, obtain vital signs, and assist with clinical procedures.
  • Support patient flow to keep the patient experience smooth from start to finish.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)


  1. Education: High School diploma or GED preferred. Must meet one of the following requirements: Graduated from an accredited vocational institution or community college in Medical Assisting with 160 hours of clinical experience completed; or completion of an Adult Education Medical Assistant program and 6 months of clinical experience in a practice setting; or 1 year of clinical experience in a multi-provider practice setting (equivalent experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis).

  2. License/Certifications: Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, or NCCT certification required. (Prior to 5/01/25 MA IIs with 10 years MA experience and employed by MaineHealth as a MA in the most recent 5 years are exempt from certification requirement). Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. Fully remote care team members are exempt from BLS certification requirement. A NH Med Tech License, or NH EMT and National Registry EMT license is required for those positions located in New Hampshire.

  3. Experience: Six months of experience as a Medical Assistant or one year as a MaineHealth Clinical Team Assistant.

The pay range for this position is $21.09to $27.12 per hour.


Compensation for part-time positions isdeterminedon a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
