Job summary

Albany Family Medicine in New York is seeking a Medical Assistant to join its clinical team. Hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm or 8:30am–5:00pm, with potential overtime.

This position offers a $1,000 recruitment and retention bonus and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, paid holidays, PTO and retirement plan. Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Previous medical/clinical experience preferred.
• Medical Assistant Certification preferred.
• Previous phlebotomy experience is preferred.
• Interpersonal skills to establish/maintain cooperative relationships with patients, families and staff.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and discretion.
• Knowledge of medical chart reporting/records.
• Experience with Allscripts is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Document verbal conversations and information into the patient records in an accurate, legible and timely manner.
• Maintain timely patient flow.
• Prepare patient for visit as appropriate, based on office/provider requirements.
• Obtain specimens from patients as directed by the provider.
• Accurate and timely order entry into the lab system.
• Perform clinical office procedures as directed by the provider (i.e. EKG, PFT).
• Assist providers with examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatments.
