Job summary

Albany Family Medicine is seeking a Medical Assistant to join their team in Albany, NY. The position offers Monday–Friday shifts from 8:00am–4:30pm or 8:30am–5:00pm with a recruitment/retention bonus up to $1,000. Responsibilities include patient intake, specimen collection, EKGs, and assisting providers with exams.

Salary ranges from $17.00 to $22.00 per hour, with potential overtime and a comprehensive benefits package in a professional environment.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Previous medical/clinical experience preferred.
• Medical Assistant Certification preferred.
• Previous phlebotomy experience is preferred.
• Experience with Allscripts is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Document verbal conversations and information into patient records accurately.
• Maintain timely patient flow.
• Prepare patient for visit as appropriate, based on office/provider requirements.
• Obtain specimens (i.e., urine, blood, etc.) from patients as directed by the provider.
• Accurate and timely order entry into the lab system.
• Perform clinical office procedures as directed by the provider (i.e. EKG, PFT, etc.).
• Assist providers with examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatments.
