Corewell Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to join the Urgent Care team in Hastings, MI. This part-time role involves rooming patients, administering medications, and supporting treatments in a busy, collaborative clinic.

The ideal candidate will have an accredited MA program completion or 1 year of direct patient care experience, CPR/BLS, and certification within 120 days (CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA/NRCMA). The site offers a supportive team and varied clinical duties.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program with hands-on clinical skills OR at least 1 year of direct MA/clinical support experience.
• 1 year of MA experience in a physician practice or healthcare setting preferred.
• CPR/BLS certification required within 90 days.
• One of CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA, or NRCMA certifications required within 120 days.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and assist with treatments in a fast-paced urgent care environment.
• Administer medications and provide wound care and ortho support as needed.
• Perform point-of-care testing and vaccine administration.
• Order medical supplies and assist with audits and documentation.

MAs can expect to room patients, administer medications, assist with treatments, wound care, ortho care, point of care testing, vaccine administration, order supplies, run audits, and more. This office has a busy but relaxed atmosphere. The team is small and works very close with one another. There are two to three MAs on staff daily depending on provider staffing and expected volumes.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent Required
• Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program that includes hands-on, in-person clinical skills OR a minimum of one (1) year of experience working specifically in the role of a Medical Assistant, LPN, Paramedic or EMT performing direct patient care and clinical support functions consistent with an MA scope of practice Required
• 1 year of relevant experience in a physician practice or healthcare setting Preferred
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Required within 90 Days
• One of the following Required within 120 Days
  • AAMA Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
  • AMT Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
  • NHA Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA)
  • NCCT Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)
  • NAHP Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA)
