Job summary

Sentara Health is seeking Qualified Medical Assistants for an Urgent Care Float Pool. The role covers Virginia Beach and Norfolk locations, with potential travel to Elizabeth City. Applicants must be CMA, CCMA, RMA, or EMT-Basic and have relevant healthcare experience.

Typical shifts are Swing Shift, 8am to 8pm, including every other weekend and some holidays. A high school diploma and MA program completion are required, with BLS within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Must be CMA, CCMA, RMA, or EMT-Basic.
• 1 year of clinical or administrative experience.
• Phlebotomy experience preferred.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient care and administrative/clerical tasks as delegated by physicians, NP/PA, RN or LPN.
• Cover Urgent Care locations in Virginia Beach and Norfolk; travel to Elizabeth City may be required.
• Work the Swing Shift (8a–8p) with every other weekend and select holidays.

Overview:

Sentara Medical Group is currently hiring Qualified Medical Assistants-Urgent Care Float Pool!

Must be either a CMA, CCMA, RMA, or EMT-Basic.

Overview

Perform patient care and administrative/clerical related tasks and procedures based on training, education, and competency evaluations, and as delegated by and under the direction/supervision of the Physician, Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (NP/PA), Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

This is a full-time Float Pool position. This position will cover Urgent Care Locations in Virginia Beach and Norfolk. May require travel to Elizabeth City.

Standard Working Hours: Swing Shift 8a-8p (Includes every other weekend and 3 of 6 Holidays). Will work 12, 8, and 6-hour increments-80 hours bi-weekly.

Differential pay is provided for the travel and flexibility that is needed for this role.

Education

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (Preferred)

Certification/Licensure

• Active CMA, CCMA, RMA, or NREMT-Basic (Required)
• BLS is required within 90 days of hire.

Experience

• 1 year of clinical or administrative experience
• Phlebotomy experience (Preferred)
