Job summary

Corewell Health's Wyoming Care Center is hiring a Medical Assistant for our urgent care team. You will support clinicians, perform patient care tasks, and help deliver timely, quality care in a fast-paced setting.

A $3,000 sign-on bonus is offered for external applicants or current CHW MA Apprentice Students. This full-time role requires a high school diploma and an accredited MA training program or equivalent clinical experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Accredited Medical Assistant training program OR 1 year of direct MA/clinical support experience.
• 1 year of relevant healthcare experience preferred.
• BLS certification required within 90 days.
• MA certifications (CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA/NRCMA) required within the specified timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Assist in urgent care settings, supporting clinicians and performing patient care tasks.
• Contribute to delivering timely, high-quality care in a fast-paced environment.
• Collaborate with the care team to ensure smooth clinical operations.

About Outpatient Clinics

Corewell Health operates over 300 outpatient clinics across Michigan, bringing a multitude of care options to the communities that we serve. There are over 40 different types of primary care and specialty practices, which allows those who work in these clinics the opportunity to learn and explore various interests or to specialize in one area.

Scope of work

As a Medical Assistant with Corewell Health, you'll be a member of our clinical support team and work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure the delivery of the best possible care. You'll be a vital part of our team, making a real difference in the lives of our patients.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent Required
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program that includes hands-on, in-person clinical skills training OR a minimum of one (1) year of experience working specifically in the role of a Medical Assistant, LPN, Paramedic or EMT performing direct patient care and clinical support functions consistent with MA scope of practice Required
• 1 year of relevant experience in a physician practice or healthcare setting Preferred
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Required within 90 Days
• One of the following Required within 120 Days
• AAMA Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
• AMT Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
• NHA Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA)
• NCCT Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)
• NAHP Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA
