Job summary

Mott Community College is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant instructor to lead clinical and administrative skill instruction. The role includes hands-on lab supervision, lecture delivery, and alignment with national credentialing standards and Michigan healthcare regulations.

The position requires current CMA/ RMA/ CCMA certification, BLS, and an Associate Degree in Medical Assisting or related field, plus 3 years of ambulatory care experience.

Qualifications

• Active national certification as Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or CCMA)
• CPR/BLS certification
• Associate degree in Medical Assisting or related allied health field
• Minimum 3 years of clinical practice in ambulatory/outpatient setting
• State of Michigan background check and required immunizations (TB, Hep B, MMR, Varicella, Tdap, flu)

Responsibilities

• Deliver lecture and hands-on laboratory instruction in clinical and administrative skills.
• Develop syllabi, lesson plans, lab protocols, and assessment rubrics.
• Ensure OSHA/ HIPAA compliance during lab simulations.
• Evaluate student competency and provide feedback/remediation.
• Maintain academic and attendance records in LMS and admin systems.
• Prepare students for national credentialing exams (CMA, RMA, CCMA).
• Participate in curriculum review, program assessment and accreditation processes.
