Job summary

Centura College in Newport News, VA seeks a part-time Medical Assistant Instructor to teach students in a classroom or lab and perform related administrative duties.

The role involves curriculum development support, class scheduling, maintaining equipment, and tracking attendance and grades. A minimum of 3 years’ practical experience and CMA/RMA certification, BLS, and strong MS Office skills are required. No prior teaching experience is necessary; a 5-day paid training program is provided.

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of 3 years related practical work experience in the subject matter.
• RMA, CCMA, or CMA certification. Basic Life Support (BLS) current or within 6 months of hire date.
• Excellent computer skills with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, performance-driven educational environment.
• Demonstrate strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Teach classes on a regularly scheduled basis and create a welcoming learning environment.
• Assist in curriculum development, preparing course materials, scheduling, and maintaining tools and equipment.
• Maintain orderly classroom or lab and enforce attendance and academic records.
• Submit attendance, grades, and evaluations to Supervisor per procedures.
• Attend mandatory meetings and participate in training sessions.
