Responsibilities

  1. Communicates and performs clinical care services with patients
  2. Takes patient vital signs and obtains patient intake information
  3. Performs clinical procedures such as blood draws, vaccines, nebulizer treatments, ear lavages, and EKGs
  4. Discusses patient needs and provides education and resources to patients directly
  5. Ensures exam rooms are stocked, cleaned, and set up for examinations and procedures

Provider and Team Support

  1. Coordinates provider workflows to ensure efficient patient care
  2. Ensures provider has all pertinent information required for each patient visit including diagnostic images, labs, and required screenings
  3. Assists other providers and care teams in women’s health, pediatrics, and general medicine departments as needed

Clinical Administration

  1. Utilizes electronic health records to order, process, and document clinical treatment plans for patients as directed by the provider
  2. Conveys information to patients via telephone or email under the direction of a provider or Registered Nurse
  3. Provides patients with requested documents after review to ensure forms are complete, accurate, and executed by the provider
  4. Completes ongoing/annual training for position compliance

Education/Experience

  1. High School diploma or GED required
  2. Valid Medical Assistant Certificate from an accredited program required
  3. BLS certificate required upon hire
  4. One year medical assistant experience preferred

Additional Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  1. Bilingual English/Spanish highly preferred
  2. Familiarity with medical procedures and terminology
  3. Proficiency with electronic health records system experience preferred
  4. Intermediate computer and data entry skills
  5. Must use sound judgment to anticipate needs of patients and providers
  6. Flexibility with changing priorities and time-sensitive deadlines
  7. Use emotional and cultural intelligence to provide appropriate communication and patient care
  8. Exemplify compassion to patients and team members
  9. Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  10. Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
  11. Ability to work with highly confidential information in a professional and ethical manner

Pay range: $23.00 - $32.55 per hour, depending on experience.

Compensation Disclosure: The posted salary range reflects the designated pay grade for this position. While this range represents the broader classification of the role, actual compensation will be based on several factors, including but not limited to: the candidate’s overall knowledge, skills, and experience, market data and industry benchmarks, internal equity within the organization, budgetary considerations, and organizational needs. As a result, placement within the range is not guaranteed, and the full pay grade range may not be utilized.
