Job summary

One Medical in Jersey City, NJ is seeking a Team Lead (Practice Coordinator) to be the onsite lead, drive operational excellence, and coach the practice team to deliver exceptional patient care. You will oversee scheduling, inventory, billing awareness, and daily workflow improvements to maintain a high-quality patient experience.

The role emphasizes frontline leadership, change management, and collaboration with clinical leaders to ensure regulatory compliance and strong team performance.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in a supervisory or lead role in high-touch customer service or patient-facing healthcare.
• Graduated from a postsecondary Medical Assistant program accredited by a recognized accrediting organization.
• An active Medical Assistant certification from one of the listed certifying bodies.
• Proven ability to foster strong, collaborative team dynamics and a supportive team culture.
• Experience in collaborative, diverse, and feedback-driven multi-disciplinary teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven track record of leading change management and process improvement efforts.
• Experience in healthcare with a solid understanding of billing and insurance.

Responsibilities

• Ensure operational readiness of the practice through regular team check-ins, staffing reviews, task-queue monitoring, and monthly shift publishing.
• Provide team leadership through training, coaching, and mentoring of team members and recognition.
• Drive performance via active daily management, office huddle facilitation, and monitoring of performance metrics.
• Perform inventory management including ordering, receiving, expiration tracking, and counts.
• Support the financial health of the practice through budget review and revenue-cycle oversight.
• Monitor Net Promoter Score (NPS) responses and manage service recovery with escalation to the Operations Manager as needed.
• Collaborate with Clinical Leadership to support quality health outcomes, patient safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Apply CI-Care framework to all patient interactions and ensure smooth in-office experiences from intake to follow-ups.
• Handle front-of-house duties including check-in/out, insurance verification, and daily office upkeep; assist facility, security, and IT as needed.
• Clinical duties may include venipuncture, non-blood specimen collection, EKGs/ECGs, vitals, vaccines, PPD tests, and related tasks.
