Job summary

IU Health in Indianapolis seeks a Medical Assistant team lead to guide staff and coordinate clinical operations. You will oversee day-to-day tasks, improve patient flow, provide coaching, and lead daily huddles to maintain high-quality care.

The role requires MA certification with a CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA/CMAC credential, BLS, and 2 years of MA II/III experience at IUH, with proficiency in ICD-10/CPT coding.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduation from a Medical Assistant program and/or CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA/CMAC certification.
• AHA Basic Life Support for healthcare workers certification required.
• Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department.
• 2 years' experience as an MA II or III at IUH is required.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding required.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Basic math and accurate data collection and entry skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day direction and support to team members to ensure efficient clinic operations.
• Monitor clinic workflow and address barriers or challenges that may impact patient flow.
• Provide real-time coaching, guidance, and feedback to staff members.
• Lead and facilitate daily team huddles.
• Review daily schedules to ensure chart preparation and pre-visit planning have been completed.
• Coordinate workflow adjustments based on staffing, patient volume, and operational needs.
• Serve as a resource for team members regarding process questions and workflow concerns.
• Collaborate with providers and clinic leadership to maintain efficient operations and quality patient care.
