Job summary

Indiana University Health System is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to support direct patient care and clinical operations. Under supervision, you will ensure accurate completion of procedures, maintain orderly patient flow, and handle registrations, scheduling, and EMR maintenance.

The role requires CMA/CCMA/RMA/NCMA/CMAC certification, BLS, and knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, MA program preferred, with opportunities to precept junior

Qualifications

  • Must hold current CMA/CCMA/RMA/NCMA/CMAC certification.
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; MA program preferred.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, CLIA, and ADA.
  • Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding.
  • TB test validation within 6 months of hire preferred.
  • Knowledge of Quality Programs and Meaningful Use requirements.
  • Proficiency in standard clinical procedures and front office tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care and clinical direction.
  • Ensure completeness of ordered procedures and treatments and smooth patient flow.
  • Perform registration and scheduling activities.
  • Maintain EMR files and front office functions.
  • May read/enter orders as directed by physician.
  • Precept MA team members or MA externs as requested.
