Job summary

Community Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant to support an ambulatory care site, assisting the provider with visits, routine tests, referrals, and care coordination.

You will prepare exam rooms, obtain vital signs, perform point-of-care testing, document in EPIC EMR, and help maintain efficient patient flow and a positive team environment.

A qualifying MA program or a HS diploma with relevant experience is required, with MA certification due within six months.

Qualifications

• Graduate/certificate of completion from a recognized medical assisting program or a High School Diploma/GED + one year MA experience in a physician practice within the past three years.
• Medical Assistant certification required within 6 months of hire.
• Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas for patient use including required cleaning and stocking of supplies.
• Room patients and manage an efficient flow of provider’s caseload.
• Obtain necessary vital signs, EKGs, and/or specimen collection.
• Documentation of care using the EPIC EMR system.
• Perform Point of Care Testing based on patient’s chief complaint and available protocols.
• Process referrals and medication refills.
• Maintain positive relationships with patients, providers, and staff

Responsibilities

• Assist the provider of an ambulatory health care site with facilitation of patient visit and procedures.
• Support routine laboratory tests and referrals to improve patient outcomes.
• Contribute to quality initiatives and best practices within Network.
