Job summary

Community Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant to support a busy ambulatory care site. You will assist the provider with patient visits and procedures, perform routine lab tests, and handle referrals to keep the provider’s schedule efficient.

You will obtain vital signs, perform EKGs, collect specimens, document care in the EPIC EMR, and participate in network quality initiatives focused on best practices to improve patient care and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduate/certificate from a recognized medical assisting program OR a High School Diploma/GED + one year of medical assistant experience in a physician practice within the past three years.
• Medical Assistant certification required within 6 months of hire.
• Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas for patient use including required cleaning and stocking of supplies.
• Room patients and manage an efficient flow of provider’s caseload.
• Obtain necessary vital signs, EKGs, and/or specimen collection.
• Documentation of care using the EPIC EMR system.
• Perform Point of Care Testing based on patient’s chief complaint and available protocols.
• Process referrals and medication refills.
• Maintain positive relationships with patients, providers, and staff.
