Job summary

Community Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient visits at an ambulatory health care site. You will assist with procedures, routine lab tests, referrals, and quality outcomes for the patient population.

Ideal candidates will have a medical assisting program certificate or HS diploma with MA experience, and MA certification within 6 months of hire. Excellent communication and teamwork are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Graduate/certificate from a recognized medical assisting program or a HS diploma with MA experience in a physician practice within 3 years.
• Medical Assistant certification required within 6 months of hire.
• Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas including cleaning and stocking supplies.
• Room patients and manage efficient flow of provider’s caseload.
• Obtain vital signs, EKGs, and specimen collection; document care in EPIC EMR.
• Process referrals and medication refills; maintain positive relationships with patients and staff.

The Medical Assistant will be responsible for assisting the provider of an ambulatory health care site with facilitation of patient visit and procedures, routine laboratory tests, referrals, and quality outcomes for the population of the practice. As an MA, you will also get to actively participate in Network quality initiatives regarding best practices.

• Graduate/certificate of completion from a recognized medical assisting program OR a High School Diploma/GED + one year of medical assistant experience in a physician practice within the past three years.
• Medical Assistant certification required within 6 months of hire
• Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas for patient use including required cleaning and stocking of supplies
• Room patients and manage an efficient flow of provider’s caseload
• Obtain necessary vital signs, EKGs, and/or specimen collection
• Documentation of care using the EPIC EMR system
• Perform Point of Care Testing based on patient’s chief complaint and available protocols
• Process referrals and medication refills
• Maintain positive relationships with patients, providers, and staff
