Cook Children's Health Care System is seeking a Medical Assistant to join the Cln-Surgery-Peds ambulatory care team. The role supports physicians and advanced practice providers, preparing and delivering patient care per established policies, with emphasis on excellent customer relations in a busy clinic setting.

The position operates 8:00 am–5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, within a 40-hour work week. A high school diploma is required, and MA certification or accredited MA program completion is

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant school OR a current Medical Assistant certification required.
• Preferred: Insurance authorization experience.
• Current BLS Certification required.
• National certification preferred.

Summary:

The Medical Assistant will function in collaborative practice with physician(s) and/or advanced practice provider(s) in an ambulatory care setting. Assists in the preparation and delivery of ambulatory patient care as directed by provider(s) and other licensed clinical personnel. Skillfully and consistently performs clinical duties per established departmental policies and procedures. The care is based on the nursing process and augments the medical plan of treatment appropriate to the ambulatory care setting with an emphasis on good customer relations.

Schedule: 8:00 am-5:00 pm Monday-Friday

Education and Experience:

• High School diploma required.
• Either a graduate of an accredited MA school OR a current MA certification required.

Preferred:

• Insurance authorization experience.

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification:

• Current BLS Certification required.
• National certification preferred.
