Job summary

Cook Children's Health Care System in Fort Worth's Dodson Medical Office Building seeks a Medical Assistant to support ambulatory care teams. You will assist providers in patient prep and delivery of ambulatory care, performing duties per policies, with focus on patient relations.

Candidates should have a high school diploma and MA program completion or MA certification; BLS is required. The schedule is Monday-Friday 8:00 am-4:30 pm, 40 hours weekly, first shift in a Texas-based ambulatory

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited MA program or current MA certification required.
• Current BLS certification required; national certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in ambulatory patient care under provider direction and established policies.
• Collaborate with physicians, APPs and licensed clinical staff to deliver care.
• Support nursing process and maintain good customer relations in ambulatory settings.

Summary

The Medical Assistant will function in collaborative practice with physician(s) and/or advanced practice provider(s) in an ambulatory care setting. Assists in the preparation and delivery of ambulatory patient care as directed by provider(s) and other licensed clinical personnel. Skillfully and consistently performs clinical duties per established departmental policies and procedures. The care is based on the nursing process and augments the medical plan of treatment appropriate to the ambulatory care setting with an emphasis on good customer relations.

Schedule

Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-4:30 pm

Education and Experience

• High School diploma required.
• Either a graduate of an accredited MA school OR a current MA certification required.

Preferred Skills

• Experience taking and accurately documenting vital signs
• Experience updating patient information in the electronic medical record
• Experience rooming patients in a clinical setting

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification

• Current BLS Certification required.
• National certification preferred.
