Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Medical Assistant/Scheduling Assistant to join our Chicago practice. You will handle front desk duties, schedule appointments, collect co-pays, register patients, verify insurances, and assist the physician team with clinical and administrative tasks.

Candidate will work Monday through Friday, 40 hours weekly, with a starting pay range of $20.29 to $29.42 per hour. CPR certification is required; MA certification is preferred but not mandatory.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR certification through the American Heart Association required; MA certification (AMT or AAMA) preferred but not required.
• One year of work experience required; prior medical office experience preferred; on-the-job training available.

What you will do

• Answer phones
• Schedule appointments
• Collect co-payments
• Complete patient registration
• Provide other administrative support to the physician practice
• Check in and check out patient
• Verify insurances
• Greet patients and escort them to exam room
• Document vital signs, allergies, medications and reason for office visit
• Provide front office support as needed
• Perform basic vitals like BP, height and weight
• Phlebotomy and injections may be required

What you will need

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent work experience is required. Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred, but not required.
• Certification: CPR certification through the American Heart Association required; Medical Assistant Certification (AMT or AAMA) is preferred, but not required.
• Experience: One year of work experience required, previous experience working in a medical office (or related field) is preferred. On the job training is provided for those who do not have previous medical assistant training or experience.
