Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Medical Assistant/Scheduling Assistant in Chicago, IL. This full-time role (40 hours per week) operates weekdays 8:00 am–5:00 pm with potential phlebotomy duties and basic vitals responsibilities.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, CPR certification, and at least one year of relevant experience; MA certification is a plus but not mandatory. Training provided. Competitive hourly wages offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; MA program preferred, but not required.
• CPR certification through American Heart Association required; Medical Assistant Certification (AMT or AAMA) preferred, but not required.
• One year of work experience in a medical office or related field required; on-the-job training provided.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones.
• Schedule appointments.
• Collect co-payments.
• Complete patient registrations.
• Provide front office support to the physician practice.
• Check in and check out patients.
• Verify insurances.
• Greet patients and escort to exam rooms.
• Document vital signs, allergies, medications, and reason for visit.
• Phlebotomy and injections may be required.

Hourly Pay Range: $20.29 - $29.42 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones
• Schedule appointments
• Collect co-payments
• Complete patient registration
• Provide other administrative support to the physician practice
• Check in and check out patient
• Verify insurances
• Greet patients and escort them to exam room
• Document vital signs, allergies, medications and reason for office visit
• Provide front office support as needed
• Perform basic vitals like BP, height and weight
• Phlebotomy and injections may be required

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent work experience is required. Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred, but not required.
• Certification: CPR certification through the American Heart Association required; Medical Assistant Certification (AMT or AAMA) is preferred, but not required.
• Experience: One year of work experience required, previous experience working in a medical office (or related field) is preferred. On the job training is provided for those who do not have previous medical assistant training or experience.
