Job Overview

The Medical Assistant Registered supports medical and nursing staff by performing clerical and clinical tasks, including scheduling, patient flow management, rooming, and taking medical histories. This role contributes to our Team Medicine approach, emphasizing collaborative care and continuous safety and quality improvements through the Virginia Mason Production System.

Qualifications

Required:

• High School diploma or GED
• 6 months experience in a medical setting or graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant, Nursing Assistant, or Medical Administrative Assistant program
• Ability to obtain Medical Assistant Registered (MA-R) certification within 60 days of hire
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Professional demeanor, positive attitude, strong communication skills
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multi-task and work independently

Preferred: Associate's degree or equivalent
