Job summary

Jobtailor in Little Rock, AR is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to support physicians in patient exams, collect medical histories, and perform routine clinical tasks in a busy clinic. You will measure vitals, collect blood samples for labs, run EKGs when needed, document in the Electronic Medical Record, and coordinate appointments while upholding confidentiality and high-quality customer service.

The position requires completion of an accredited MA program; BLS/CPR training is preferred,

Qualifications

  • Requires completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • Registered or Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
  • Legal work authorization required at start date.
  • 1 year Medical Assistant experience preferred.
  • BLS/CPR certification preferred.
  • Ability to perform point-of-care testing and draw blood for labs.
  • License or certificate required for application.
  • Provide three professional references.
  • Resume required.
  • TB screening and background/substance abuse checks may apply.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the clinic physician in examination and treatment of patients.
  • Conduct patient interviews and required screenings.
  • Measure and record vital signs in patients' Electronic Medical Records.
  • Draw and collect blood samples and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
  • Perform EKGs as needed.
  • Prepare and stock treatment rooms.
  • Register and schedule patients for appointments and procedures using systems.
  • Collect and record medical histories and vital signs.
  • Advise patients regarding treatment, medication, and physician instructions.
  • Complete documentation for laboratory submissions.
  • Manage patient appointment schedules.
  • Greet patients and customers professionally.
  • Register and check out patients, collect payments, issue receipts, and verify insurance coverage.
  • Provide professional customer service to the public and stakeholders.
  • Maintain confidentiality and communicate accurate information.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with coworkers and departments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
  • Registered or Certified in Medical Assistant (preferred)
  • One (1) year of Medical Assistant experience (preferred)
  • BLS (CPR) Certification (preferred)
  • Ability to perform point of care testing, draw and collect blood specimens and prepare for laboratory processing
  • License or Certificate required for application
