Job summary

Agile Occupational Medicine in California is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant to join our Sacramento clinics. You will perform clinical and administrative tasks to support patient care, including taking vital signs, assisting with procedures, and managing patient records.

This PRN role requires Monday–Friday hours (8:00 AM–5:00 PM). Starting pay is $22.00–$24.00 per hour, depending on experience and location. Agile is an Equal Opportunity Employer focused on quality care and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of Medical Assistant program preferred.
• CMA or RMA certification preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and medications.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Previous experience as a medical assistant preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with scheduling appointments, managing patient records, assisting with billing and coding tasks.
• Answering phone calls and responding to patient inquiries.
• Verifying insurance coverage and processing insurance claims.
• Performing basic clinical tasks, such as taking vital signs and administering medications.
• Assisting with drug testing, physical evaluations, drawing blood samples and other clinical duties.
• Maintaining cleanliness and organization in back office and exam rooms.
• Providing patient education and answering patient questions.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and ethical standards.
• Follow company policies and collaborate with other healthcare professionals.

Will provide coverage to our Sacramento Watt and West Sacramento clinics

Schedule:

PRN, as needed (Clinic hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM)

Compensation:

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Completion of a Medical Assistant program preferred
• Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred
• Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and medications
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
• Previous experience as a medical assistant preferred
