Job summary

Marathon Health is hiring an experienced Medical Assistant to join our team. The MA works closely with a primary care physician to deliver high‑quality patient care and an exceptional guest experience, performing clinical duties and acting as a front-desk liaison.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year in primary care, formal MA training, and MA certification/registration. CPR/BLS is required; phlebotomy is a plus in this on-site Florida setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a Medical Assistant, preferably in Primary Care.
• Graduation from a formal Medical Assistant program or other related program.
• National or state-specific MA certification or registration is strongly preferred.
• MA certification or registration is required for employment in States where certification/registration is required.
• CPR/BLS certification required at time of start date.
• Phlebotomy experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Escorts patients to room and ensures that exam rooms are thoroughly cleaned and stocked.
• Reviews previous medical information and gathers updated health data for the provider.
• Take vitals, perform blood draws, give injections, bandage wounds, assist with procedures.
• Work with contracted labs for additional tests.
• Prepares and administers medications and immunizations as directed by the Provider.
• Partners with care team to develop patient plan of care and address gaps.
• Front desk duties: scheduling, records requests, referrals, and coordination.
• Records data in medical records per documentation guidelines.
• Process test results and communicate timely results to patients.
• Participates in outreach to patients to drive engagement.
• Maintains clinical/office supplies and equipment.
