Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine (WMed) seeks a Medical Assistant to join a teaching ambulatory team in Kalamazoo, MI.

The role involves patient intake, rooming, and assisting clinicians in a fast-paced clinic, with no nights or weekends and generous PTO and holidays. Positions span MA I–III levels with pay from $15.90 to $22.90 per hour, dependent on experience and certification.

Qualifications

• Highschool diploma or equivalent required.
• 6 months of clinical health care experience required.
• Graduate of an accredited program or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient flow and room assignments.
• Obtain age-appropriate vital signs on admission.
• Collect patient information related to visits or procedures.
• Assist physicians and team with treatments and tests.
• Perform point-of-care waived testing as needed.
• Administer medications per protocol.
• Document patient care and actions per clinic standards.
• Schedule diagnostic workups, referrals, and appointments.
• Occur for prescription refills and follow-up as needed.
• Prepare and maintain exam rooms and assist in immunizations.
