Job summary

Bronson Internal Medicine – John St., Kalamazoo, MI seeks a Medical Assistant for the Full Time, 40 hours/week role. Under a provider’s direction, you’ll perform general nursing functions, record vital signs, assist with exams, educate patients and document in the EMR.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED and completion of an accredited MA program, or CMA/CCMA/RMA certification with eligibility within 6 months. First shift; sign-on and retention bonuses are available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited medical assistant program or CMA/CCMA/RMA certification.
• Must obtain CMA/RMA within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination including vital signs and histories.
• Document pertinent information in patient charts and EMR.
• Administer treatments and obtain specimens as directed by the physician.
• Set up and assist with procedures and coordinate tests/referrals.
• Maintain confidentiality and communicate clearly with patients and staff.
• Stock exam rooms and manage inventory.
• Ensure BLS certification within 90 days of hire/transfer.
