Job summary

Marathon Health currently seeks a PRN Medical Assistant to join our care team in Cookeville, Tennessee. The assistant works closely with a primary care physician to deliver patient care and a positive guest experience, serving as both Medical Receptionist and clinical support.

The role involves taking vitals, phlebotomy, injections, immunizations, front-desk duties, and bedside patient care within our value-based model.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant.
• Graduation from a formal Medical Assistant program or related program.
• National or state MA certification/registration strongly preferred; MA certification/registration required where mandated.
• CPR/BLS certification required at start date.
• Phlebotomy experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms and ensure rooms are stocked.
• Take vitals, perform blood draws, give injections, and immunizations per provider order.
• Perform phlebotomy and assist with procedures.
• Front desk duties: scheduling, chart requests, referrals, and check-in/out.
• Record data in the medical record and communicate results to patients.
• Coordinate with care team to address gaps in care.
