Job summary

Marathon Health is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join our team in Rumford, ME. You will work closely with a primary care physician to deliver high‑quality patient care and an exceptional guest experience, acting as both medical receptionist and clinical assistant.

Responsibilities include taking vitals and assisting with procedures, administering medications, and coordinating scheduling and referrals.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably in Primary Care.
• Graduation from a formal Medical Assistant program or related program.
• National or state MA certification or registration is preferred or required where applicable.
• CPR/BLS certification required at start date.
• Phlebotomy experience.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to room and ensure exam rooms are clean and stocked.
• Take vitals, draw blood, administer injections, and assist with procedures.
• Prepare and administer medications and immunizations per provider order.
• Front desk duties: scheduling, records requests, referrals, and check-in/out.
• Document data in the medical record and communicate results to patients.
• Coordinate with care team to develop patient plans and address gaps.
• Maintain supplies and equipment for treatments.
