Job summary

Marathon Health is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join our care team. You will support a primary care physician, deliver high-quality patient care, and provide an exceptional guest experience to patients.

You will perform clinical tasks while also handling front-desk responsibilities to keep the patient flow smooth. The ideal candidate has at least 1 year as a Medical Assistant, formal MA training, and appropriate certification/registration as required by state law.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of MA experience; primary care experience preferred.
• Graduation from a Medical Assistant program; state/national certification preferred.
• Certification/registration required where mandated by state law.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to rooms and ensure exam rooms are cleaned and stocked.
• Review medical information and update patient health data for provider.
• Take vitals, perform blood draws, injections, wound care and assist procedures.
• Work with contracted labs for additional testing.
• Prepare and administer medications and immunizations as directed by the provider.
• Collaborate with care team to develop and address gaps in patient care.
• Front desk duties: scheduling, record requests, documentation, and referrals.
• Record data accurately in medical records per guidelines.
• Process test results and communicate timely results to patients.
• Participate in outreach to engage eligible patient groups.
• Maintain supplies and equipment for treatments.

Skills

CPR/BLS certification

Phlebotomy experience

1 year experience as MA

Education

Formal Medical Assistant program

MA certification/registration (where required)
