Job summary

Puyallup Tribal Health Authority in Tacoma, WA seeks a Medical Assistant for on-site primary care and OB/GYN support. The role is full-time, Mon–Fri, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with a competitive hourly range and strong benefits.

You’ll room patients, take vitals, perform basic procedures, support providers, and maintain EMR documentation in a collaborative, Indigenous-centered team. Native American preference applies; eligibility for student loan repayment and growth opportunities are highlighted.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Current WA State Medical Assistant Certification (MA-C).
• At least 3 years of Medical Assistant experience with patients of all ages.
• Previous OB/GYN or women’s health experience preferred.
• Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR).

Responsibilities

• Rooming patients and preparing them for exams and procedures.
• Taking vital signs, patient histories, and performing basic diagnostic testing.
• Administering immunizations and medications as directed.
• Performing phlebotomy, basic lab procedures, and limited x-rays (if certified).
• Supporting providers and nurses with patient care and workflow.
• Assisting with scheduling, documentation, and electronic medical records.

Requirements
